Visiting from out of town. Had lunch today at Casali's. Ordered a draft IPA and Italian Wedding soup to start. The beer was fresh and cold and the soup was delicious - filled with tiny meatballs, chunks of chicken, and savory broth. I had the steak salad - a huge bowl of mixed greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and perfectly medium-rare steak chunks, all topped with crunchy fries! I had the creamy peppercorn dressing which was a perfect accompaniment to the salad. The price was well below my expectations for food of this high quality. The server was really friendly and helpful. I will be back for the pasta!

I had dinner at Casali's on Friday night. What an excellent experience. I have extended family in St.Marys and I've been visiting there my whole life and this establishment is a gem. Amazing drinks: Wasn't sure what I was in the mood for and I told the bartender what I liked and was served great cocktails. Not a big beer fan but they have a very large selection of craft beers if that's your thing. Good Service: Nicest waitress! Very attentive service. Our glasses were never empty; appetizers and dinner were served warm. Great Food: We had a sample platter for an app, it was all-good but the fried raviolis were my fav. I also can't stop thinking about the Italian wedding soup. Delicious! Ordered the chicken parm for dinner came with 2 chicken breasts and huge plate of pasta. Couldn't pass up dessert ,not that I had any room left. Glad I didn't skip it, almost too pretty to eat and tasted as good as it looked. Do your self a favor and go to Casali's!!!

Great place. Not typical Italian place. Plenty of craft beers, owner is pittsburgh sports fan, nice tv's. Recommend the homemade risotto balls and sausage potato soup. Friendly owner and staff. In a strip mall kind place but don't let that dismay you. Try it!

Excellent Italian food. We stopped on our way to the Straub Brewery. The bar selection was good. They had a nice variety of Straub beer on tap as well as some other craft stuff and a nice liquor selection. We had the wedding soup, spaghetti and meatballs, and the chicken Parmesan. Each item was very good. The meatballs were soft and moist. Both the meat and the marinara sauce were both excellent with chunks of meat or tomatoes present. The noodles were properly cooked. The chicken parm was well prepared as well. Next time I'm in town I will definitely stop here for food.

When I saw this place opening up a month or two ago I thought it was just the old restaurant that use to occupy this space changing there name. The old place was okay, but wasn't one of my favorite places. Well when I had out of town guest come in on business I needed a place to take them so I thought I would give it a try. The reviews were a little too good by people with only a handful of reviews so I came into Casali's not expecting much. I left very impressed. The food was fantastic. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and I impressed at the quality. I have been to more than one "fancy" Italian restaurant that used a frozen chicken patty or some other substitute. What I got was a real chicken breaks that was fried and breaded like my grandma makes. Maybe a little light on the red sauce would be my only complaint but at this point I am nit picking. Service was fast and friendly. The place looked clean and well maintained. I went back for lunch a few days later, simply because I do not give out 5 star ratings often and only if I have been to a place more than once. Again the food was great and I left happy. I will be visiting this place again.

Superb dining experience! The food is first rate, full of flavor, & made with fresh ingredients! You can taste the difference between Casali's & other eateries in the area; the winner is Casali's, hands down! From the steak to the Alfredo, there is no bad meal. I'll be a repeat customer!

I have to conclude that the people who rated this 5 stars have never had really good Italian food. My son and I stopped here on our way to the Elk Country Visitor's Center which is nearby. I had never heard of it and we went solely on the basis of Yelp reviews. Very ordinary food and terrible service. The place was empty but we sat for 15 minutes before we got menus, then another 10 before our order was taken, then about an hour for the food to come out. We'd still be sitting there if I hadn't gone up to the bartender and asked for the check. Bad experience, won't go back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
